Haleakalā National Park Visitor Center

Located at the summit of the Haleakalā volcano, the historic visitor center dates back to the 1930s and reflects early park architecture. The building is significant as part of efforts to protect and promote understanding of Maui’s unique volcanic landscapes. The park’s history intertwines with the cultural significance of Haleakalā, considered sacred by Native Hawaiians as the “House of the Sun.” Source: Vacation Maui, I love Hawaii
