Old Koloa Town

Koloa is where Hawaii’s first commercial sugar plantation began operations in 1835, marking the start of a transformative industry. The town retains many original buildings, including the Yamamoto Store and Sueoka Store, showcasing life during the plantation era. Today, Old Koloa Town is a hub of cultural pride, featuring a heritage trail with historical markers, a cultural center, and walking tours that dive into the lives of plantation workers and their enduring legacy​.
