These members of the Hawaiian royal family led their own knitting and garment-making units, such as the Iolani Unit and the Daughters of Hawaiian Warriors. They personally supplied wool and recruited volunteers, particularly among Native Hawaiian women, ensuring representation and participation in the war effort from indigenous communities.
