Princess Abigail Wahiikaahuula Campbell Kawānanakoa

Princess Abigail Campbell Kawānanakoa, a prominent member of Hawaii’s aliʻi (royalty) and political elite, publicly supported Hawaii’s war efforts through ceremonial appearances, charitable events, and support for Liberty Bond drives. As a woman of Native Hawaiian and missionary descent, she used her unique standing to promote cross-cultural unity and loyalty to the U.S. cause. Her presence at public war events helped bring Native Hawaiians into the broader fold of wartime patriotism and demonstrated that Hawaii’s royalty stood with the United States.
