Mabel Doub joined the second Hawaii contingent sent to the Red Cross mission in Siberia in November 1918. She worked as a nurse at Russian Island Hospital, a key medical facility established to care for wounded Czech soldiers and other Allied personnel. Mabel’s service highlights the immediate and essential medical support provided by Hawaii’s nurses in harsh winter conditions and volatile political environments

She graduated from Harvard University with a Masters in Business Management, from Indiana University with a Bachelors in Journalism, and she did her graduate studies in historic preservation at the University of Hawaii.
