Taking over for Beatrice Castle during her absence, Helen Strong Damon maintained momentum and expanded the auxiliary’s work. She personally inspired volunteers and managed growing demands for surgical dressings and hospital garments. Her commitment was a key reason Hawaii’s relief supplies were so well-regarded abroad.
