Elizabeth McMenamin, another member of the second Hawaii unit, was deployed to Russian Island Hospital shortly after arriving in Vladivostok. Her work supported the efforts to care for Czech soldiers suffering from battlefield injuries and illness, helping stabilize a rapidly expanding medical operation in an understaffed and underserved region.
