Alma Clark

Alma Clark served as a nurse’s aide in the Hawaii Ward of the American Military Red Cross Hospital No. 1 in Neuilly, France. Known for her youth, strength, and friendly manner, Alma brought both skill and comfort to the soldiers in her care. Described as “robust and rosy,” she represented Hawaii’s dedication to overseas service through personal compassion. Her work helped define the character of Hawaii’s contribution to postwar recovery efforts in Europe.
