Ariston Arozal, whose name is sometimes cited as “Arosal,” was a Private in the Second Hawaii Infantry, Company K.
He was born in 1898 in the Philippines and worked at the McBryde Sugar Company on Kauai prior to the war.
He died on July 24, 1918, at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where he is buried. Among the family he left behind is was his sister, Mercedes from Cebu, P.I.
Ariston’s name is listed on the plaque outside the War Memorial Natatorium for giving his life in the Great War.
