The Henderson family, including Walter’s son and son-in-law, contributed to the firm’s lasting reputation in Hilo.
The house remained the family’s residence until 1956, reflecting decades of change and development in the Hilo community. Later owners included the Walters, a family with deep ties to Hawaii’s history through missionary work and business.
